Beanstalk International Bilingual Schools (BIBS) was founded in 1998 and includes more than 20 campuses across China. BIBS has developed and implemented an innovative early childhood to graduation education model that reflects the fact that it was the first international bilingual school founded by Chinese people, for Chinese students. BIBS adheres to the following philosophy: “The Essence of Chinese and Western Culture, Beautifully Fused”. Furthermore, it seeks to be the leading bilingual school in China while moving toward all campuses gaining both IBO World Schools and Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) authorization enabling graduates greater opportunities when applying for entry into the best universities and colleges around the world.
Beanstalk seeks to empower its learners to become bilingual, multi-cultural and globally- minded citizens who are equipped with the knowledge and integrity to function successfully, responsibly and effectively in an ever-evolving global environment.
Elementary School Curriculum
The Elementary School curriculum has been designed for students aged from 6-12. It is an inquiry based educational framework that seeks to infuse Chinese national standards with an international implementation model. As students gain greater knowledge, skills and abilities they are encouraged to question and use their natural curiosity to drive the learning process. Integrated learning tears down the walls between the classroom and real life, embracing their understanding of the work in which they live.
There are various of after school activities (ASAs) offered, where students have many choices include academics, music, drama, PE, art, languages, leadership skills etc. We encourage all students to attend ASA to develop a balanced and interesting range of experiences.
Middle and High School Curriculum
Beanstalks International Bilingual School (Changying campus) implements the Middle Years Programme of IB curriculum and provides the following subjects for students combined with China's national curriculum.
The subjects taught in each grade at BIBS Middle Years Programme are:
Language and Literature (Chinese and, or English)
Language Acquisition (Chinese and, or English)
Individuals and Societies (Locally and Globally)
The Arts (Visual Arts, Drama, Music)
Physical and Health Education
We attach great importance to the balanced development of students. Through study in the Middle Years Programme using the Chinese National Curriculum:
students develop mastery in both Chinese and English languages,
understand the history and society of China and the world,
use mathematical and scientific theories to solve practical problems in life
achieve outstanding development in art
develop physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle
Today's world is changing rapidly, and our educational programs must prepare students for the future. In addition to paying attention to the learning of subject knowledge, the curriculum design uses "concepts" to realize the connection of interdisciplinary knowledge. The aim is to learn in authentic situations developed in context. Students develop learning skills such as independent thinking, communication and cooperation, research and reflection. These skills can enable students to successfully cope with the learning challenges of various disciplines and do an excellent job of completing higher-level learning in the future successfully. Students have the opportunity to explore the areas of interest in self-learning and create personal learning outcomes; through community design, students have the opportunity to develop their understanding of various needs in various communities and respond to these needs through service-learning.
The middle school programme has a high degree of coherence and comprehensiveness. It inherits the PYP project of primary school and the diploma programme's university's preparatory program to provide academic learning programs for students aged 11 to 16. This stage is a critical period for students' growth and development. The success of academic learning is closely related to students' character, social and emotional development. We will help students complete the transition from different aspects.
